Clarksville, Ark. --- The University of the Ozarks Bookstore will be open Saturday, Aug. 6, and Sunday, Aug. 7, for customers to take advantage of the Arkansas Tax Free Weekend.

The Bookstore, located on the bottom level of the Seay Student Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, and from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Legislative Act 757 of 2011 exempts clothing items valued at under $100 (per item), clothing accessories under $50, school supplies and textbooks from the state sales tax for a 48-hour period Saturday and Sunday.  School supplies include instruction items and items that students commonly use in class such as notebooks, paper, pencils, markers, rulers, protractors and calculators. Computers are not exempt from the sales tax.

Arkansas residents may also purchase items on-line tax free during the weekend. Credit cards will be charged at the time of the purchase. The Bookstore website can be found at www.cbamatthews.com/ozark/.
