U of O to present Science Day for high school students

Clarksville, Ark. -- The University of the Ozarks' Sciences and Mathematics Division will present its second annual Science Day for high school students on Wednesday, Nov. 14, on the U of O campus.

The day-long series of events is designed for any high school student who may be interested in studying science in college. The event is sponsored by the University’s science faculty and students. The day begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. and includes lunch and optional campus tours. The event will also include:

  • A science test competition, with prizes and awards.
  • Presentations from science faculty members on fields of study available at Ozarks, including genetics and molecular biology, zoology, botany, earth science and organic chemistry.
  • Student presentations on research projects they have done at Ozarks.

There is no charge to attend the event. Lunch and T-shirts will be provided for all participants, and campus tours and general information about the university will be available.
