Clarksville, Ark. --- The University of the Ozarks Community Service Program will present a pair of one-day workshops for the public in March dealing with scrapbooking and publishing and marketing novels.
"Beginning Scrapbooking" will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, March 9, on the Ozarks campus. Led by Professor of Communications Dr. Greta Marlow, the workshop will emphasize the basics of creating photo scrapbooks that can become lifetime treasures. Class participants are encouraged to bring their personal photos to the workshop. The cost of the workshop is $15 and includes all supplies needed for the class. "Writing and Marketing Your First Novel" will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, March 14. The class will be led by Anna Myers, an award-winning author who has published 12 novels for children and young adults. Myers will offer insight and advice for beginning and seasoned writers, including how to develop writing skills, what it takes to be a successful writer, how to market your work, how to deal with agents and publishers and understanding contracts.
