U of O music department to present “Music of the Season”

Clarksville, Ark. — The music ensembles of the University of the Ozarks will perform a Christmas concert titled “Music of the Season” at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 7, in Munger Chapel on the U of O campus.

The U of O music department will also perform its traditional Service of Lessons & Carols concert at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, in Munger Chapel. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The Music of the Season concert will feature the Ozarks Chorale in a performance of Deutsche Messe fur die Weihnactszeit by Alois Bauer. Also scheduled for the Music of the Season concert is the U of O Chamber Singers, who will perform How Far is it to Bethlehem? by Fissinger; Still, Still, Still, arranged by Luboff; Nu tandas tusen juleljuis, arranged by Toller; Tomorrow Shall be My Dancing Day by Gardner; El Rorro, arranged by Van; O Magnum Mysterium by Victoria; and A Consort of Christmas Carols by P.D.Q. Bach.

The U of O Chorale and Chamber Singers will perform under the direction of Dr. G. Mikael Lindström. Mrs. Mary Lou Douglas will accompany the Ozarks Chorale and Dr. Sharon L. Gorman will accompany the Chamber Singers.

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, the U of O music ensembles will perform their traditional Service of Lessons and Carols with musical selections from the Music of the Season program. That event will begin at 11 a.m., in Munger Chapel.
