U of O, CHS to present Music of the Season

Clarksville, Ark. --- The music ensembles of the University of the Ozarks and Clarksville High School will join forces to perform a concert titled Music of the Season at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, in Munger Chapel on the U of O campus.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature Gloria arranged by Baroque composer Antonio Lucio Vivaldi and accompanied by a string quartet from the Arkansas Symphony. The U of O ensembles will also perform works by Felix Mendelssohn, Giovanni Palestrina and Jacobus Clemens.

The U of O Chorale and Chamber Singers will perform under the direction of Dr. G. Mikael Lindström. The CHS Chamber Choir and Concert Choir will perform under the direction of Rebeca Pitts. The ensembles will be accompanied by university organist Dr. Sharon Gorman and pianist Mary Lou Douglas.

There will be a reception, hosted by U of O President Dr. Rick Niece and his wife, Sherée, preceding the concert. The reception, which will be from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the Mabee Administration Building, is open to all alumni and friends of the university.
