Trustees recognize University employees

The University of the Ozarks Board of Trustees presented its annual faculty and staff awards during the 2015 Trustees' Awards Banquet, held April 24 in the Rogers Conference Center.

Among the recipients for 2014 were (pictured, from left) Director of Public Safety Jeannett Willis, Walton Professor of Music Dr. Sharon Gorman, Chair of the Humanities and Fine Arts Division Dr. Steve Oatis, Jones Learning Center Academic Support Coordinator Debbie Williams, and Admission Campus Visit Coordinator EmmaLee Morrow.

Gorman and Oatis each received the Richard and Katherene Bagwell Outstanding Faculty Award. Morrow was honored with the Arnold G. Sims Outstanding Support Staff Award and Williams earned the Alvin C. Broyles Outstanding Professional Staff Award. Willis was presented the 2015 Dr. Rick and Sheree Niece President’s Above and Beyond Outstanding Service Award.

Several other faculty members also received service awards, including Debbie Carlton, Janie Chappell, Dr. Brian Hardman, Michelle Loving, Rick Otto and Dody Pelts for 10 years; Dr. Sean Coleman, Bo Funderburke, Josh Peppas, Lisa Raburn and Karla Wood for 15 years; Steve Edmisten for 20 years; Coy Doss, Dr. Frank Knight, Karen Schluterman and Melodye Stickley for 25 years; Jana Hart and Leanita Pelts for 30 years; and Karen Jones, Pam Jones and Dr. Buddy Smith for 35 years.

Willis, Doss, Chappell, Phyllis Johnson, and Dr. Robert Hilton were also recognized as 2015 retirees.
