Tribute dinner to honor the Nieces set for April 20

University of the Ozarks is presenting a tribute dinner to honor retiring President Dr. Rick Niece and his wife, Sher?e, at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20.

The event, which is part of the university’s Alumni Weekend 2013, is being co-sponsored by ARAMARK food services and will be held in the Rogers Conference Center. The public is invited to attend.

Seating is limited and the purchase of advanced tickets is required. Tickets for the dinner are $20 per person.

Denton Tumbleson, a 1974 Ozarks alumnus, will serve as the emcee for the event. Several current and former students, faculty, staff and trustees are scheduled to speak.

There will be a silent auction preceding the dinner that will feature memorabilia from the Nieces. The silent auction will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the proceeds will go to an endowment established by the Nieces to support academic enrichment for students.

Dr. Niece is retiring in June after 16 years as president of U of O.

Tickets to the dinner must be purchased by Friday, April 12. To purchase tickets, please contact the Advancement Office at 979-1230 or go on-line to http://www.ozarks.edu/weekend and click the "Register" link.
