A record-breaking 63 student presenters and 44 projects will highlight the third annual Advanced Research and Creative Highlights (ARCH) Symposium, scheduled for Monday, April 20.

The poster presentations and visual arts will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Rogers Conference Center. Students will be present to discuss their works with both judges and visitors from 2-4 p.m. Oral presentations will take place from 6-8 p.m. that evening in the conference center.

The public is invited to attend the event.

The ARCH Symposium is an opportunity for U of O students to showcase the academic research and projects they have been involved in throughout the year. The presentations and projects will be evaluated by a panel of judges and there will be cash prizes awarded in various categories.

This is the third consecutive year the event has seen an increase in both the number of student presenters and the number of projects.

"I am excited that this event continues to grow and expand," said ARCH coordinator Emma Bottorff, director of Campus Activities. "We now have more than 60 students participating across nearly all academic disciplines and many co-curricular areas. Each year the symposium has grown bit by bit. We started in 2013 with just 36 students. The success of this event can be attributed to the love each of us has for celebrating our students’ hard work and success. I hope we can continue to grow, and to expand the number of opportunities we have to celebrate our students."
