Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O tennis teams split in matches against Lyon College on October 22 in Clarksville. The men's team defeated Lyon 4-3 while the women's team fell 2-7.

In men’s action, Zach Schiff, Reggie Brasfield, Taylor Dodds and Charter Xaykaothao each recorded wins in singles play. Chad Kingston and Xaykaothao won 8-4 in doubles play. "The men have really been working hard in practice and it paid off," said head coach Sally Wood. "I was pleased with our number one doubles team of Reggie Brasfield and Zach Schiff. They lost in a tiebreak, but they fought hard. Reggie also played well in a singles match in which he lost the first set 4-6, but came back to win the second set (6-4) and third set (7-5) to win the match after being down 1-5 in each of the two." In women’s action, Karie Allen recorded a win in singles play. Julie Richardson and Liza Talley were victorious in doubles action for Ozarks. "Each match was closer than the score indicated for our women," said Wood. "Our women were very competitive with Lyon. Our number one doubles team of Julie Richardson and Liza Talley played well."
