CLARKSVILLE, Ark. ---Spring semester enrollment is up nearly 14 percent over last year at University of the Ozarks, University officials announced Monday.

According to Jim Abbuhl, vice president for enrollment marketing at Ozarks, there are 553 students enrolled for the spring 2000 semester, an increase of 13.8 percent over last spring’s enrollment of 486. Of the 553 students enrolled, 511 are full-time and 42 are part-time. ??? "Our increase for this Spring is a clear signal that we’re doing things right," Abbuhl said. "We retained students from the Fall semester at a very positive rate and enrolled 29 new students. We hope to build on this success as we continue to increase enrollment in the future." ??? In the Fall 1999 semester, Ozarks had 596 students, its largest enrollment since 1991 and a 12 percent increase over 1998.
