Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles hit a cold spell from the field and could never recover as they ended their season with a 82-59 loss against East Texas Baptist University Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.
Ozarks (7-17, 5-14 ASC) shot a season-low 25.8 percent from the field and had trouble slowing down an East Texas Baptist team that had 12 players in the scoring column. Despite a 9-of-31 (29%) shooting performance in the first half, the Lady Eagles trailed only 36-29 at halftime. Ozarks ended the final five minutes on a 5-0 run and then opened the second half with a three-pointer by Alison Villines to get within 36-32. But Villines’ shot would be one of only eight Ozarks’ field goals in the second half. Things quickly went downhill from there as the Tigers (12-13, 10-10 ASC) built a 14-point lead in the first four minutes of play. Ozarks attempted 35 second half shots, but managed to only hit 22 percent of those.
Villines led Ozarks with 16 points. Ashley Teague had 11 points.
