Clarksville, Ark. --- An art exhibit featuring sculptures by University of the Ozarks graduate Italo Roberto Sanchez will be featured during the month of July at the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center, located at 1001 East B Street in Russellville.

Sanchez, a native of Guatemala and a 2005 art and marketing graduate from U of O, was killed on June 3, 2007, in a car accident in Guatemala. He was 23.

Sanchez’s three-dimensional art includes wood and Raku sculptured pottery, many of which were inspired by his Mayan heritage and growing up in Guatemala.

There will be a reception to help kick off the exhibit from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, at the center. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
