Retail strategy expert to speak at Ozarks on Feb. 13

Carol Spieckerman, an internationally recognized retail and brand thought leader, speaker, strategist, and author, will speak at University of the Ozarks on Wednesday, Feb. 13, as part of the PBL-Enactus Distinguished Speakers Series.

Carol Spieckerman, a leading retail and brand strategist, will speak at Ozarks on Feb. 13 as part of the PBL-Enactus 2012-2013 Distinguished Speakers Series.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in Baldor Auditorium, located in the Boreham Business Building. The public is invited to attend and there is no cost for admission.

Spieckerman is president and CEO of newmarketbuilders, a Bentonville, Ark.-based retail strategy firm that specializes in advising suppliers, brand marketers and agencies toward improving productivity and retail relevance as well as coaching suppliers on how to position for high-volume retail opportunities

"I’m planning on tying retail, business and consumer dynamics together and sharing ways that retail is a leading-edge indicator and influencer in the digital age," Spieckerman said. "The (lecture) is designed to resonate with students as well as the larger business community and I will incorporate a skills/hiring criteria section at the end that is designed specifically for the students."

In her presentations to corporate, trade and academic audiences, Spieckerman cuts through the clutter and distills actionable insights that future-proof her clients’ strategies.  She has a taste for tackling knotty brand positioning challenges and applying best-in-class, retail-centric principles to other industries.
