Lynne Slater, Director of Helping Arkansas’ Wild "Kritters" (H.A.W.K.) will give a presentation describing her organizations’s work to rehabilitate sick or injured animals.

Many wild animal injuries or rescues require specialized treatment that veterinarians may not be able to provide. Tonight, Lynne Slater, Director of Helping Arkansas’ Wild "Kritters" (H.A.W.K.) will give a presentation aimed at helping her audience learn how to best help a sick or injured wild animal. Slater’s presentation, featuring live raptors (birds of prey such as hawks and owls) will focus on the most common types of wildlife injuries, and describe how H.A.W.K. Center is playing a role in the survival of these animals. Slater will also talk about the mission of H.A.W.K. and describe how members of the community can get involved by volunteering or completing an internship with the organization.

The presentation will start at 6:00 pm and will be held on the Ozarks Outdoors BaseCamp Patio. Sponsored by University of the Ozarks Planet Club, the event is free and open to the public. However, seating is limited, so please plan to arrive early. Convocation credit will be available for Ozarks students attending the presentation.

H.A.W.K. is dedicated to providing environmental education through the experience of wildlife rehabilitation. To learn more about the group, visit their website, http://www.hawkcenter.org.
