Clarksville, Ark. --- Members of the University of the Ozarks' Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) team took home 14 first-place, 10 second-place and 15 third-place finishes to capture the overall Sweepstakes title in the 2011 Arkansas PBL State Leadership Conference, held in Little Rock on April 15-16.
Competing against teams from nine other state colleges and universities, the U of O team earned top individual category honors from Meagan Ponseigo (Accounting for Professionals), Kayla Casey and Eugene Downs (Community Service Project), Veronica Saborio and Adrian Valerio (Digital Video Production), Chuong Do (Economic Analysis & Decision Making), Katy Niskern (Free Enterprise Project), Tony Fernandez (Free Enterprise Project and Strategic Analysis and Decision Making), Mayra Hoch (Future Business Executive and Management Analysis & Decision Making), Delsie Ku (Management Analysis & Decision Making), Yoselin Delgado (Management Concepts and Retail Management), and Carlos Rodriguez (Organizational Behavior and Strategic Management).
“As Chair of the Division of Business, Communications, and Government, I could not be more proud of our students this year,” said Dr. Robert Hilton, who serves as lead advisor for PBL. “This special group came together as a team, defined their goals, worked hard, and exceeded all expectations. They represented Ozarks extremely well both scholastically and in their behavior. They represented the best of Ozarks.”
