Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks will host the first annual Arkansas NCAA III Men?s and Women?s Cross Country Championships Wednesday, October 19.

Ozarks opponent will be Hendrix College, the state’s only other NCAA III university. The 5K women’s race will start at 5:00 p.m., and will be followed by the men’s 4.1-mile race at 5:30 p.m. Ozarks course is located just south of Interstate 40 near the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Fans can follow Market Street past the Supercenter to find the course. Map of the course can be found here: http://eagles.ozarks.edu/ccountry/5k%20course.pdf

“There is a historical aspect with this race dating back to the old AIC days,” said head coach Brian Hull. “And, we are the two lone D-III schools in Arkansas. It is nice to get together and partner with each other for that reason. The opportunity to have a second home race is important for us to help raise awareness of our program. It’s good to get local support for our men and women.”

Ozarks will travel to Seguin, Texas, for the American Southwest Conference championships October 29.
