Ozarks to hold graduation ceremonies May 13

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. ---University of the Ozarks will hold its 166th commencement ceremonies at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 13, on the campus mall.

Approximately 95 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony, including 16 who received degrees this past December. ??? The commencement speaker will be Joe Hoing, dean of students at Ozarks. Hoing, a native of Coal Hill, has worked at U of O since 1984, including stints as a study skills specialist and program coordinator in the college’s Jones Learning Center. He earned his undergraduate degree in education from Arkansas Tech, where he was an NAIA All-American football player. He also earned a master’s degree in education from Mississippi State. He and his wife, Carol, have two children, JoJo and Montana. ??? Commencement ceremonies will be preceded by baccalaureate, which begins at 9 a.m. in Raymond Munger Memorial Chapel. A luncheon for graduates and their families will follow the commencement services.
