Ozarks Outdoors to sponsor winter break ski trip

Because Clarksville is situated at the foot of the Ozark Mountains, you'll find lots of slopes nearby.?But although our area saw a few flakes of snow earlier in the week, alas, the area seldom gets enough powder for people who love to ski.

This January, Ozarks Outdoors is offering an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to hit the slopes in a place where there should be plenty of snow. The group is making plans to spend four days in Santa Fe, New Mexico, skiing and exploring the historic city.

Cost for the trip is $399, which covers three days of skiing (including rentals and lift tickets), lodging at the home of Cass Thompson, transportation to and from Santa Fe, and transportation around the city on the final day of the trip. Ski lessons can be purchased at the resort for an additional fee.

The group will depart on the morning of January 8, and will drive straight through to Santa Fe. The next three days will be spent on the slopes, with January 12 set aside as a day to rest and explore the city. They will return to Ozarks on January 13.

To learn more about ski opportunities in Santa Fe, visit the "Ski Santa Fe" website, http://www.skisantafe.com/.  Individuals who are interested in making the trip may contact Cass Thompson at cthom7271@ozarks.edu for detailed information about the trip, including the list of recommended items to bring.

Those interested should register as soon as possible, so plans for the trip can be finalized. Register online, or contact Thompson to register.
