Clarksville, Ark. --- Three Clarksville men have been named to the University of the Ozarks' Board of Trustees Class of 2004.
Chris Allen was re-elected to a second three-year term, and former trustees Lee White and Denton Tumbleson were also elected to the Class of 2004. The three-year terms began Jan. 1 and will run through 2004. Allen, facility manager at Sara Lee Hosiery in Clarksville, is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and has worked at various facilities for Sara Lee Corporation for more than 30 years. He is a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club and the Clarksville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Martha, have two daughters, Becky and Jenny. White, president of Farmers Bank & Trust in Clarksville, previously served on the Board of Trustees from 1995-2000. A graduate of Hendrix College, White is a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club and the Clarksville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. He is also chairman of the Johnson Regional Medical Center Board of Directors and of the Clarksville Education Foundation. He and his wife, Mary Margaret, have one daughter, Anne Blaine. Tumbleson is the executive vice president for Simmons Bank in Clarksville. He is a 1974 graduate of Ozarks, an alumnus of The Graduate School of Banking of the South at Lousiana State University and previously served on the Ozarks Board from 1994-97. Tumbleson is a past president of the Ozarks Alumni Association and is a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club and the Clarksville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Jane, have three daughters, Jennifer, Ashley and Lauren. Other members elected to the Board of Trustees Class of 2004 include, John Tate of Bella Vista, Ark.; Richard Streller of Dallas; Bruce Swinburne of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; Penn Thomas of Corpus Christi, Texas; Ann Woolley of Ada, Okla.; Jim Murray of Camden, Ark.; and Daniel Chue of Panama City, Panama.
