Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles suffered a loss to Mississippi College on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action in Clinton, Mississippi.
With a 3-4 conference record, the Lady Eagles are in fifth place in the East Division standings. Austin College is the division leader with a 7-0 league record, followed by Mississippi College with a 7-1 record, Louisiana College with a 5-3 record and UT-Tyler with a 4-4 record. Mississippi College proved to be a tough test for Ozarks as the Lady Choctaws (16-3, 7-1) handed the Lady Eagles (7-11, 3-4) a 68-52 loss on Saturday. The Lady Choctaws out scored Ozarks 33-23 in the second half after the Lady Eagles held the lead for most of the first half. Mississippi College took a 29-27 lead with 2:30 left in first half action and would quickly build a comfortable lead in second half play behind a solid shooting performance from the field. Ten different players scored for Ozarks, with Mandi Carter leading the way with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting from field. Carter has led Ozarks in scoring the last seven games. The Lady Eagles and Eagles host Louisiana College on Thursday and Mississippi College on Saturday.
