Clarksville, Ark.-It was a battle at the bat rack Tuesday afternoon as Ozarks slugged out 15 hits in a 14-3 win over Eureka College at Lonnie R. Qualls Field.

The Eagles (7-8, 0-0) clubbed out 10 hits in the first three innings of play while starting pitcher Robby Finnell held the Red Devils (0-5) to two hits during that span. Ozarks scored three runs in the opening inning behind an RBI single by Anthony Brandon and a 2-RBI double by Tim Renshaw. The Eagles added two more runs in the second thanks to a pair Eureka errors. The hits kept coming in the third when Ozarks exploded for six runs on four hits. Tyler Gideon earned a bases loaded walk to score the first run. David Smith then hit a single to right field to score one. Brian Heckmann followed with another single and Caleb Hilton added a sacrifice fly to put Ozarks up 9-1. Two more runs were scored in the inning as Brett Hays and Brandon each recorded an RBI. Hays stroked a three-run home run in the fifth to give Ozarks their final runs of the game. Finnell (1-0) received his first win of the season. He had four strikeouts and yielded just one run in six innings of work. Heckmann capped off a 4-for-4 performance with 2 RBI. Hays finished with 4 RBI and 2 hits. Ozarks will travel to Sherman, Texas, to face Austin College in a three-game series this Friday and Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.
