Clarksville, Ark.--The U of O men's soccer team has been honored for the second consecutive year with a prestigious Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

The NSCAA/adidas Team Academic Award is presented to those teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average for the 2003-2004 year. Ozarks was one of just 73 intercollegiate men’s soccer programs in the country and the only school in the American Southwest Conference to earn the award. Ozarks posted a 3.02 team gpa to receive the distinction and join University of Notre Dame, College of William & Mary and Georgetown University as winners. "We are very proud that our team continues to have success both in the classroom and on the soccer field," said director of athletics and head men’s coach Dave De Hart. "The many hours these student-athletes spend in study hall and their understanding of the importance of their academic responsibilities will pay great dividends in the future." Institutions from NCAA Division I, II and III, and NAIA are eligible for the honor.
