The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.

Lady Eagles Take Care Of Business; Playoffs On The Line

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles set themselves up for a shot at the playoffs with a 80-55 win over LeTourneau University Thursday night and now will host Texas-Tyler Saturday to see who secures the fourth and final spot from the American Southwest Conference East Division.

The winner of Saturday’s game will earn the number four seed from the division and will play in the eight-team ASC Championship Tournament held February 25-27. The winner of the West Division will host the tournament.

Ozarks (13-11, 9-10 ASC) stormed out to a 22-5 lead riding the hot hand of Sabrina Goddard in the first half. Goddard pumped in 15 first half points and also grabbed seven rebounds. Lacey Phillips provided ten first half points and hit two three-pointers. LeTourneau (2-22, 1-18 ASC) shot a dismal 9-of-31 (29%) from the field in the first half. The YellowJackets narrowed the deficit to 27-21 with three minutes left in the half, but Phillips scored five points to help Ozarks to a 36-24 halftime lead.

A Chelsea Glasscock three-pointer at the 16:36 mark of the second half, gave the Lady Eagles a 47-27 advantage. Ozarks cruised the rest of the way and built a 31-point lead after another Phillips’ three-pointer at the 11:51 mark.

Goddard had 21 points and nine rebounds. Phillips had 17 points and eight assists. Ashley Teague added 14 points.

Saturday’s game against Texas-Tyler will be both Senior Day and Homecoming. Ally Goddard, the team’s only senior, will be honored following the game.
