The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.

Lady Eagles Open Season With 79-73 Win Over Austin College

Sherman, Texas-Fueled by three key three-pointers in the second half, the Lady Eagles rallied from behind to take a 79-73 win over Austin College in the Bob Mason Classic in their season-opener Friday night.

Ozarks (1-0) proved to be the more balanced team with four players reaching double figures in scoring. Ozarks also had a solid shooting night from the field hitting 55 percent, including 50 percent from behind the arc.

Austin College (1-1) held the lead for the majority of the first half before Ozarks rallied to even the score at 26-26. Taylor Farmer powered her way for a layup with 7:01 minutes left in the half to tie the game. She then would score two more times over a two minute span, and Jordana Andrews drilled a three-pointer during that stretch to put Ozarks in front 33-26 with 5:18 remaining. However, Austin College roared back to eventually take a 40-39 lead into the half.

Austin College built an 8-point advantage five minutes into the second half before Ozarks hit three shots from long-distance to take control of the game. Bryanna Moltz nailed a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 51-46 and RaShelle Goldman hit another on Ozarks next possession to pull the Lady Eagles even closer. Andrews knocked down a jumper to give Ozarks its first lead of the second half and Goldman followed with her fourth three-pointer of the game to push Ozarks in front 54-51. Andrews would later hit two more three-pointers to keep the Lady Kangaroos from threatening in crunch time.

Farmer scored a team-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Andrews followed with 15 points, and Tamara Wilkett and Goldman scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Lady Eagles will face University of Dallas tomorrow in the Classic with game time set for 2:00 p.m.
