Clarksville, Ark.--The Lady Eagles dropped a 4-2 decision to the Lady Choctaws in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles (2-10-0, 2-5-0) scored the match’s first goal, but it wasn’t enough as Mississippi College (9-4-0, 5-3-0) scored four of their own to claim a 4-2 road victory. Lindy Swatzell started Ozarks off with a goal in the 9th minute on a pass from Jessalyn Halsted. Swatzell now has fourteen goals this season. The Lady Choctaws would storm back to lead 2-1 at halftime. However, Ozarks tied the match at 2-2 when Ember Smith nailed a shot in the 60th minute. Mississippi College quickly answered with goals in the 61st and 65th minutes to seal the game. Swatzell had a team-best six shots. Goalkeeper Carrie Rogers had five saves. With just six ASC games remaining, the Eagles and Lady Eagles travel to Abilene, Texas, to face McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University on October 15th and 16th.
