Clarksville, Ark.-A Ryan Koerdt three-point shot with 12 seconds left in regulation propelled the Eagles to a 95-94 overtime victory over University of Dallas on Thursday.
The Eagles improved to 14-7 and 9-6 in the ASC. The Eagles trailed for most of the second half, but cut into the Crusader lead when Travis Acord scored 6 straight points. Acord first canned a three-pointer and then completed another three point play to make the score 58-62, in favor of Dallas. With 12 seconds left to play, Koerdt swished a three-pointer to send the game into overtime and tie the score at 87. “Ryan’s shot was big for us,” said head coach Johnny Johnson. “All year long our team has found a way to win and this is just another example of that. Ryan and the other players came together as a team in the second half and that is the reason we won.” Brent Gibbs scored on three straight lay-ups to help Ozarks take control of overtime play. Gibbs scored a game high 24 points on 11 of 12 shooting from the field. Acord finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Koerdt had 16 points.
