Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles couldn't hold onto a 1-0 lead as Howard Payne scored a pair of second half goals to capture a 2-1 win in American Southwest Conference action Thursday.

The Yellow Jackets (6-4-0, 5-2-0) owned a 10-3 shots advantage in the first half, but Ozarks goalkeeper Lori Langman kept Howard Payne scoreless through the first 45 minutes with several nice saves. Langman made one of her six first half saves on a leaping snag in the 22nd minute on a Takenda Cotton would-be goal. It was Laura Spruiell though that gave Ozarks a 1-0 advantage when she scored in the 38th minute on an assist from Marisa Maldonado.

Howard Payne would score in the 65th and 84th minutes to push the match to 2-1. Heather Dryden hit the cross bar on a free kick early in the second half and Chelsea Coleman was robbed of a goal when Howard Payne’s goalkeeper made a one-handed stop in the 61st minute.

Kristi Gordon and Chelsea Coleman each had two shots. Langman finished with 10 saves.
