Governor recognizes two employees for volunteer efforts

Clarksville, Ark. --- Two University of the Ozarks staff members have received letters of commendation from Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe for their volunteer service to the Ozark Rape Crisis, Inc., in Clarksville.

Kerry Taylor, a development officer for the University, and Karla Holt, administrative assistant and special projects manager for the University’s Advancement Office, were recognized for their years of volunteer service as advocates for the Rape Crisis center. Taylor has volunteered with the program for 12 years and Holt has served eight years with the program.

Beebe said in his letter. "By giving your time and talent, you have made a lasting contribution. Your energy and your generosity will make our State a better place for us all."

Ozark Rape Crisis, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization committed to addressing the serious problems related to sexual violence by providing 24-hour crisis intervention services to victims of sexual violence and primary sexual violence prevention education in Boone, Marion, Searcy, Newton, Carroll, and Johnson counties.  Services include a 24-hour local and toll-free crisis hotline, personal advocacy and assistance throughout the medical, law enforcement, and criminal justice process, follow-up, information and referral, violence prevention and awareness education to youth, the general public, and in-service training for professionals.
