Clarksville, Ark.-Georgetown, Texas native Marcos Gonzalez has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's Soccer All-Central Region First Team.
Gonzalez, a forward at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, was one of only 11 players who earned the distinction in NCAA III. Gonzalez’s prestigious award caps a brilliant career at Ozarks in which he was a four-time All-American Southwest Conference player. This season he led the Eagles to a school-best 18-3-1 record and was named the ASC Co-Offensive Player of the Year. He ended his career as the school’s all-time leader in goals (52), assists (45), points (149), games played (78) and game winning goals (9). He also owns 13 American Southwest Conference records. Additionally, he led NCAA III in assists per game (1.8) this season and set a new NCAA III record by gathering eight assists against Rhema Bible College on September 4. Gonzalez is a three-time ASC All-Academic selection as a business administration major.
