Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks junior pitcher Robby Finnell and sophomore left fielder John Glenn garnered American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week honors, announced ASC Director of Media Relations Greg Weghorst on Monday.

<#IMAGE:1#>Finnell, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound Tulsa, Okla. native, earned co-Pitcher of the Week after picking up a win and two saves in a three-game ASC series against East Texas Baptist University. Finnell did not allow a run over six and two-third innings of relief work and struck out three batters. In game three, Finnell worked his way out of a jam to hold the Tigers scoreless in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs and two runners in scoring position, Finnell promptly forced a fly out and then recorded a fielder’s choice out to end the inning. He also helped his own cause over the weekend, collecting 6 RBI with a home run. Finnell owns a 1.67 ERA and a 3-1 record on the mound. At the plate, he leads the team in home runs (6), RBI (26) and total bases (41). In 2006, he earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors and ASC All-East Division Honorable Mention. He is a graduate of Nathan Hale High School. <#IMAGE:2#>Glenn, a 6-foot, 165-pound Tulsa native, earned Hitter of the Week after recording five extra-base hits ? including a game-tying triple against East Texas Baptist ? and six RBI during Ozark’s 5-0 week. Glenn was pivotal in helping the Eagles to a three-game sweep of East Texas Baptist, batting .454 with three doubles and a home run. He was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI against Mid-America on March 14, and then went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs batted in against the Tigers in game two. He stole two bases and produced six runs during the week. Glenn is batting .346, and leads the team in doubles (9), triples (2), runs (23) and walks (11). Glenn is a graduate of East Central High School and played at Fort Scott Community College last season. The Eagles are currently 13-8 overall and 3-0 in the ASC East Division standings. It is the second time this season a pair of Eagles have won ASC Player of the Week honors. On February 12, Todd Koch (Pitcher) and Andrew Teaster (Hitter) each earned the award.
