Clarksville, Ark.--East Texas Baptist completed a sweep of Ozarks with a 9-1 win and a 8-0 victory on Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

Hitting continued to be the main ingredient to ETBU’s success in their series with Ozarks. The Lady Tigers (20-7, 16-4) recorded 13 hits while limiting the Lady Eagles to three hits in the first game. Ozarks (6-21-1, 3-17) scored one run in the fourth inning, but it was too late as ETBU already had five on the board. Brooke Grice singled in the fourth and then Erica Newell followed with a double to score her. Grice led the team with two hits. Chanceree Catlett (2-12) received the loss. In game two, ETBU jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings of play to put the pressure on the Lady Eagles’ offense. Ozarks was unable to get any across the plate in five innings of play. Five different players had one hit each. Dana Marvin (4-8) received the loss. The Lady Eagles look to rebound this week when they host Hendrix College on April 13 with a double-header beginning at 2:00 p.m. Following their games with Hendrix, Ozarks travels to Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau University on April 15-16 for a four-game series.
