Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist University cruised to an easy 78-61 win over the Eagles after forcing 19 turnovers Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.
Ozarks ends the season with an 8-16 overall record and a 6-13 mark in American Southwest Conference play. The Eagles didn’t help themselves in the first half hitting only 9-of-25 (36%) from the field. The Eagles had only eight points at the mid-way point of the first half and trailed by 14. The Eagles held the lead for just a short time early on. Ozarks never gained any momentum in the game and eventually got down 45-25 with 17:40 remaining. The Tigers (14-11, 12-8 ASC) then had a 25-point advantage with 9:25 left. The Eagles scored only seven points over a ten-minute stretch in the second half to put themselves in a 63-38 hole.
Blake Mitchem led Ozarks with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jerard McGinty had 12 points with two three-pointers. Shawn Curtis went 5-for-5 from the field and scored 11 points.
