Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior guard Erica Eneks was named the American Southwest Conference women's basketball East Division co-Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.
The ASC’s leading scorer had a career-high 44 points in a narrow loss to Texas-Tyler on February 7. It was the highest single-game total in NCAA Division III this season and the best in the ASC since Louisiana College’s Patrece Carter scored 45 in the 2003-04 season. Eneks, who becomes a two-time winner of the division’s top weekly award, went 12-for-12 from the free throw line on the week. The 5-foot-7 shooting guard from Mountainburg, Ark., also added seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
In the 44-point outburst, Eneks hit 16-of-26 (61%) from the field, including 4-of-11 from the three-point line, and went 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Eneks was three points shy of tying the school’s point record (47) set in 1991. She currently ranks fourth at Ozarks in career points (1,394).
A two-time All-Conference player, Eneks was named to the All-ASC East Division Defensive Team as a junior.
She is a graduate of Mountainburg High School where she was a two-time All-State performer.
Ozarks will host Mississippi College on February 14 and Louisiana College on February 16.
