Eagles Win Sixth Straight; De Hart Hits Century Mark

Clarksville, Ark. - University of the Ozarks head men's soccer coach Dave De Hart team won his 100th career game at Ozarks and the Eagles won their sixth straight with a 3-0 victory over Howard Payne University on Saturday afternoon.

<#IMAGE:1#>The Eagles (10-4-1, 7-2-0) have outscored their opponents 21-5 during their six-game win streak. De Hart, who has been the head soccer coach since the 1999 season, is among the winningest active NCAA III head men’s soccer coaches in the country. He now owns a career record of 100-50-11 (.655) at the school. He has led Ozarks to seven consecutive winning seasons and his teams have reached the ASC post-season playoffs for a conference record six straight seasons. Senior forward Jared Gordon remained hot as he scored in the 17th minute. Gordon, who has scored in six straight matches, took an assist from Shaun Renfro and scored his 12th goal of the year. Matt Engelman followed with a goal in the 35th minute on an assist from Jason Caskey. With a 2-0 lead at halftime, Brandon Cain gave the Eagles a comfortable 3-0 advantage in the 76th minute when he ripped one past the keeper from 20 yards out. Gordon received the assist. Ozarks out shot Howard Payne (1-9-3, 1-1-7) 14-9, with Cain and Darren Clark leading the team with 3 shots apiece. Ozarks goalkeeper Jeffrey Enevoldsen had 4 saves. Ozarks travels to Kerrville, Texas, to face Schreiner University on October 20 and Seguin, Texas, to face Texas Lutheran University on October 21.
