Eagles Too Much For LeTourneau

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles broke open a tight first half score by putting four goals on the board in second half play as they took a 5-0 victory over LeTourneau University on Friday in Longview, Texas.

The Eagles remain atop the American Southwest Conference standings with a 10-2-0 record. Ozarks improves to 15-4-0 overall, while LeTourneau falls to 6-10-2 overall and 3-8-1 in league play. Ozarks will end regular season play when they travel to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist on Saturday. The match starts at 7:00 p.m.

Brandon Cain scored in the 29th minute to give Ozarks a 1-0 lead. Cain’s goal would prove to be the only goal of the first half even though the Eagles accounted for 20 shots. It was Cain’s sixth goal of the season. The Eagles then came out in the second half and scored four goals in a span of 12 minutes to overwhelm the YellowJackets. Darren Clark scored first, which came in the 59th minute on a pass from Cain. Brandon VanCleave followed with a goal in the 67th minute. Clay Johnson received the assist. It was VanCleave’s seventh goal of the season. Clark scored his 11th goal of the season when he connected on a shot in the 70th minute. VanCleave received the assist. 47 seconds later, Matt Engelman would score the final goal of the match. Dylan Evans received the assist. It was Engelman’s fourth goal of the year. Engleman also had an assist in the match.

The Eagles ended the match out shooting LeTourneau 34-6. Brian Sarber started in goal for Ozarks. Jeffrey Enevoldsen also played in goal and had one save.
