Eagles Have Their Way With Tigers

Clarksville, Ark.-Six players reached double figures as the University of the Ozarks men's basketball team gained a 84-60 win over East Texas Baptist University on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action.

<#IMAGE:1#>Ozarks’ Blake Belford nailed a three-pointer to open the scoring at the 17:10 mark, and the Eagles (8-16, 7-12) never looked back as they ran off to a 40-19 halftime advantage. The Tigers (7-18, 7-13) struggled from the field, hitting only 6-of-33 (18%) field goals in the first half. The Eagles remained on top of the Tigers for most of the second half by more than twenty points. Ozarks got a pair of dunks from Keith Bowles and Chris Williams in the second half. Williams had his best day as an Eagle, scoring a team-high 14 points and grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds. Bowles scored seven points in 13 minutes of action. Habeeb Kareem finished with 13 points. Jeremy Clark, Tony Daniels and Chris Clark all had 11 points. Ted Beard added 10 points. Ozarks will host LeTourneau University in their final game of the season on Saturday.
