Eagles Explode For Seven Runs In Seventh Inning

Clarksville, Ark.--The Eagles used a seven-run seventh inning outburst to hand Hendrix College a 16-10 loss on Tuesday afternoon in what was another offensive show for Ozarks.

Facing a 8-7 deficit going into the bottom of the seventh, Ozarks (5-0,0-0) powered their way to three home runs and recorded a total of six hits to take the lead for good. Robby Finnell led off with a home run to tie the contest. Kyle Hudson then knocked in Tyler Pickett and Brian Heckmann. Hudson, however, was gunned down in an attempt to reach third base. The offensive show would continue for Ozarks as Chris Harrell hit a solo home run. Both Brett Hays and Justin Brown later reached base after walking. Caleb Hilton then sent a shot over the leftfield fence for a three-run home run. Ozarks ended the seventh inning, which lasted nearly thirty minutes, with a 14-8 lead. The Eagles have now recorded at least 10 hits in all of their games after notching15 against Hendrix (1-4, 0-0). Hilton went 4-for-6 with 6 RBI to lead the team. Finnell, Hudson, Harrell and Brian Heckmann all had two hits apiece. Chase Hale (1-0) received the win after pitching two innings and surrendering only one hit. Curt Dixon started the game for the Eagles and went six innings and struck out two. Ozarks will host Westminster College February 19 at 1:00 p.m.
