Eagles End UT-Tyler Match With 2-2 Tie

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles finished their American Southwest Conference match with UT-Tyler in a 2-2 double overtime deadlock on Tuesday afternoon at Hurie Field.

With the tie, Ozarks (10-2-3, 6-1-2) holds sole possession of second place in the ASC standings. The Eagles finish their conference slate with away games against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Concordia-Austin this weekend. Ozarks then will host a pair of home matches against Texas Lutheran on October 28 and Schreiner University on October 29 to wrap-up the regular season. ????? Two second half goals for the Eagles wasn’t enough to defeat the Patriots (11-2-1, 7-1-1), who scored a goal in the 15th minute to hold a 1-0 advantage in the first half. Ozarks stormed back in the second half to tie the match at 1-1 when Cody Ellis knocked one in off a corner kick. Ron Hogsett received the assist. UT-Tyler fought back to take a 2-1 lead in the 68th minute when Malek Bekka scored his second goal of the match. Just minutes before Ozarks goalkeeper Jeffrey Enevoldsen made a nice save and then promptly pressured off another Patriot shot to keep UT-Tyler from adding a goal. The Eagles would gain momentum when Ryan Skelly evened the match at 2-2 when he powered a shot in the net from 15 yards out. Dustin Perry had the assist. ????? Ozarks then dominated the overtime periods, out shooting UT-Tyler 6-0. ????? In the end, Ozarks held a 21-18 shot advantage. Skelly had a team-best five shots. ????? Enevoldsen had eight saves in 110:00 minutes of action.
