Eagles Earn Win Over Scheiner

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles gained a 94-87 American Southwest Conference victory over Schreiner University on Sunday night in Kerrville, Texas.

The Eagles (5-3, 3-2) held a 47-41 edge over Schreiner (1-8, 1-6) at halftime and held a 11-point lead at four different times during the first half. Habeeb Kareem paced the team with 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting in first half action. Kareem helped Ozarks shoot 22-of-36 (61%) from the field in the first twenty minutes of play. In second half action, Schreiner took a 66-64 lead with 11:46 left in the game and held the advantage all the way until the 4:03 mark when Josh Joyner hit a jumper to give Ozarks a 83-82 lead. Jacob Sibley nailed a three-pointer just thirty seconds later to push the lead to 86-82. The Eagles shot a solid 38-of-63 (60%) from the field in the game, but shot just 13-of-26 (50%) from the free throw line. Joyner led the team with 22 points. Kareem scored 21 points while Sibley and Brent Johnson scored 17 and 10 points, respectively. Joyner and Kareem each had 5 rebounds to lead the team. The Eagles and Lady Eagles play at Texas Lutheran University tonight in ASC action.
