Clarksville, Ark. --- Dr. Gary Telgenhoff, a forensic pathologist who does consulting work for the hit television show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, will speak at University of the Ozarks on Monday, Sept. 19, to kick off the university's 2005-2006 Walton Arts & Ideas Series.
Telgenhoff will speak at 7 p.m. in the Walton Fine Arts Center on the Clarksville campus. Tickets are $10 each. Telgnehoff, who is the deputy medical examiner for Las Vegas, will have a multi-media presentation that shows how he uses scientific tools to solve criminal and medical mysteries. He sees approximately 1,000 bodies a year, 450 of which he autopsies. Of those, about 45 are homicides. His presence is often required in court to testify in regards to the cause and manner of death. During his presentation, Dr. Telgenhoff will highlight some of the most important tools of forensic science, discuss the impact forensics has on criminal investigations and explain how he helps “keep it real” on the set of CSI. The event is the first of the year in the 2005-2006 Walton series, whose theme this academic year is Imagination and Exploration.
