Combined 39 Hits Recorded In Hendrix Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Hendrix College?s 19-11 win over Ozarks had a combined 39 hits and 13 different pitchers used in a non-conference slugfest Tuesday afternoon.

Offense was abundant in the contest, which lasted over three hours, and 42 players saw action on the field. Ozarks (3-3) held a 4-3 lead after three innings of play behind a Mitchell Powers solo home run and a three-run third. Hendrix (4-5) added a pair of runs in the fourth to grab a 5-4 advantage. In the sixth, Hendrix recorded four hits and four runs to add to their lead. They collected four more runs in the eighth to move ahead 13-5. Six more runs came for Hendrix in the ninth, while the Eagles added four of their own in the bottom half of the frame. Ozarks went through seven pitchers and Hendrix threw six. Rodger Montano (0-1) took the loss. Powers went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Nick Brill also went 3-for-4. Freddy Prince had two hits, including a home run.

Ozarks will host Schreiner University for a three-game series beginning this Friday at 2:00 p.m. Saturday’s double-header will start at 12:00 p.m.
