Clarksville, Ark. — Arkansas nature photographer and author Tim Ernst will share some of his more recent outdoor photographs during a presentation at University of the Ozarks at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Walton Fine Arts Center.

The event is part of the University’s 2009-2010 Walton Arts & Ideas Series. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the box office in the Walton Fine Arts Center on the evening of the event or by calling 479-979-1346.

Ernst will be featuring photography slide shows from two of his newest programs — Buffalo National River and Arkansas Wildlife. He will have his picture books, guidebooks, 2010 calendar and DVDs available for purchase.

According to Ernst’s Web site, he has been “hiking, driving and crawling around the wonderful Ozark Mountains for most of his life, preserving the images he sees on film for everyone to enjoy.” His photographs have appeared in hundreds of national, regional and local publications, including, National Geographic, Audubon, Backpacker, Outside, and Outdoor Photographer. He is the author of numerous hiking trail guidebooks, including Arkansas Hiking Trails, Ozark Highlands Trail Guide and Arkansas Nature Lover’s Guidebook. He also has been writing his popular Cloudland Cabin Journal since 1998.

Ernst recently completed his newest picture book, Arkansas Wildlife, which was published in the fall of 2009, and he is working on his next new Arkansas picture book, Arkansas Fall, that will be published in the summer of 2010.

Ernst is the founder and president of the Ozark Highlands Trail Association and was a recipient of the national “Volunteer of the Year” award by the American Hiking Society.
