Clarksville, Ark.-Pitcher Amanda Luney was named American Southwest Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
Luney earned Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Lady Eagles to three wins. Luney, a native of Siloam Springs, totaled two wins and a save in her three performances over the first week of the 2002 season. Luney complied a .70 ERA while allowing 10 hits and one earned run over 10 innings of work in addition to striking out five. Luney worked one inning of relief to earn the save in the Lady Eagles’ win over the University of Dallas on February 15. The Lady Eagles are currently 4-0. Luney was named Ozarks’ Most Valuable Defensive Player last season.
