University of the Ozarks will present its most prestigious student honors during the 2016 Academic Awards Program, scheduled for Wednesday, May 4.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Seay Theatre, located in the Walton Fine Arts Center. Families and friends of U of O students are invited to attend and there will be a picnic-style dinner on the campus mall following the event.
Among the highlights of the ceremony is the announcement of the Hurie Award, voted on by the faculty and presented to the outstanding member of the senior class. Named in honor of the former university president, the Hurie Award is considered the highest honor an Ozarks student can receive.
Awards will also be presented to outstanding students in many of the academic programs.
