Clarksville, Ark.-The 2011 University of the Ozarks baseball media guide was voted the top guide among NCAA II and NCAA III schools in the annual publications contest conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The 48-page guide edged Embry-Riddle and Central Missouri State University to be named “Best In The Nation” by CoSIDA. By winning "Best in the Nation" honors, the Eagle baseball guide became the first Ozarks media guide to be recognized as tops in the nation. The Sports Information Office also received two other awards for the 2010-2011 year. The men’s soccer media guide ranked second in its category and the women’s softball media guide placed third among its competitors. The media guides were written and designed by veteran Sports Information Director Josh Peppas. Student assistants Sarah Otteman and Kaitlyn Williams assisted with the publications. Zach Doty provided action pictures as the department’s chief photographer.

The guides were judged in the competition’s "College” category, which includes media guides from NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA and junior colleges from across the United States. The Sports Information Office has earned a combined 12 awards from CoSIDA the past four years.
