Brett Wood, Director of Alumni Relations

A 2010 graduate of Ozarks, Wood began his new duties on March 21.

Wood most recently served as a sales consultant for Paychex Inc., in Houston, Texas. He previously served on the security forces with the United States Air Force from 2011 to 2015. With the Air Force, Wood was a Base Defense Operations Center controller, training instructor, asset manager and inspector.

As a student at Ozarks, Wood served as president of the Student Government Association, was a member of the baseball team and was chapter founder and president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. The political science major also served a summer internship at Georgetown University with The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) program.

"University of the Ozarks is home to me, and I am very excited to come home to my Ozarks family," Wood said. "As a student, I had the opportunity to see the passion that the board of trustees, faculty and staff have for this university. I am grateful to now be a part of that team. And the opportunity to work with Ozarks’ alumni is a tremendous blessing."

As the new director of alumni relations, Wood will serve as the liaison between the university and its approximately 7,500 known alumni throughout the world.

"The value of an Ozarks degree grows when alumni support each other as well as the current student body," Wood said. "I will have the opportunity to meet with others who share the same passion for the education and experiences we all received while at Ozarks. I look forward to working with and bringing alumni together so we can assist the university in the advancement of her mission. Alumni play a major role in ensuring that today’s and tomorrow’s Ozarks students not only have the same great education they had, but that they have even greater opportunities and experiences. I am thrilled to be a part of that."
