Labor Day Weekend Trip (Canoeing/Rock Climbing) A tradition trip with Ozarks Outdoors.  Experience a day of floating on the Buffalo National River and Rock Climb outside in the Ozark National Forest.  Students will have a chance to sign-up for one of the two trips offered.  This is a big weekend and we want everyone to experience what it means to get outside during the holiday weekend.  Saturday will be floating on the Buffalo river and Sunday will entail rock climbing…

Another great tradition at the University of the Ozarks. Students will have the chance to camp overnight on Friday and then have a restoration workday on Saturday. The Bearcat Hollow Restoration Project is a shared responsibility between several different government entities (Arkansas Wildlife Federation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Wild Turkey Federation, and National Parks Service). A chance to hear Charlotte Austin speak to the campus community about her travel’s as a mountain guide and adventure writer. She is able to translate how being in the mountains brings a sense of community, cultural diversity, and personal reflection all of which are experiences that students have during their time at any University. Please join Ozarks Outdoors and Charlotte Austin as she speaks to a public crowd about the adventures she has experienced since her last visit.
