Business Excellence

Two of the most active and acclaimed collegiate student business organizations in the region are located right here at University of the Ozarks. The University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and Enactus chapters each have a long and distinguished legacy of excellence, in both academics and community service. The PBL team recently captured a total of 31 top-five finishes at the 2017 PBL State Leadership Conference. PBL members from U of O tallied four first-place awards, 10 second-place finishes, five third-place awards and 12 other top-five honors during the annual state-wide event that draws PBL chapters from universities and colleges throughout the state. Ozarks PBL members took first place in such events as financial analysis and decision making, impromptu speaking, social media challenge, and statistical analysis. Also in April, the University’s Enactus team won a regional championship for the 27th consecutive year during competition in Dallas to advance to the 2017 Enactus United States National Exposition in Kansas City, Mo., in May. This year’s Enactus team had 45 active members and completed seven projects, with 489 hours of community service and 6,025 individuals impacted. Among the projects the group took part in were Pro-English, a program designed to assist non-English speakers with English lessons, as well as projects to promote entrepreneurship and ethics awareness.
