University of the Ozarks Associate Professor of Art Tammy Harrington recently served as a juror for the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum (RAM) River Valley Art Invitational, an annual fundraiser for the museum.
The River Valley Invitational is an open exhibition showcasing painting, photography, works of sculpture and installations by professional artists. The common denominator for all works included in this year’s exhibition is "Naturally Diverse Arkansas." This year’s invitational showcased the works of more than 40 artists from around the state.
Harrington was joined by two other distinguished jurors on the judging panel: Ann Prentice Wagner, Ph.D., curator of drawings for the Arkansas Arts Center; and Manuela Well-Off-Man, Ph.D., assistant curator for the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
Harrington, who has taught at Ozarks since 2002, attended a reception at the RAM’s new location on Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith on July 18, when the winners were announced. Carol Dickie, a Eureka Springs-based artist, walked away with the $1,000 top prize and a solo show at the RAM in 2014.
The entire exhibition will be on display at the RAM until Sept. 1 and admission is free during July and August.
