PBL team fares well in state competition

The University of the Ozarks' Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) team captured several of the top honors at the 2016 PBL State Leadership Conference, held April 1-2 in Little Rock.

The U of O PBL team took home several top honors at the recent 2016 PBL State Leadership Conference in Little Rock.

Ozarks students took home two first-place honors, four second-place awards, six third-place honors and 14 other top-five recognitions during the annual state-wide event that draws PBL chapters from universities and colleges throughout the state.

Miguel Cuellar won first place for Ozarks in the category of accounting principles and Liliam Lopez won in the category of job interview.

The U of O team of Rosendo Garcia and Fernando Coronado took second place in business decision making, while the duo of Elvia Pinzon and Nicole Justice also finished second in the business presentation category. Also taking second place were Henry Marin in client service and Nathalie Calero in management concepts.

Ozarks’ third-place honorees included, Lorenzo Bac (client service and job interview), Andrew Herbert (economic analysis/decision making and justice administration), the team of Ester Lopez and Daniel Ortega (human resource management), Margie Guerra (organizational behavior and leadership).

Other Ozarks students who placed in the competition included, Diana Perez, KC Nkalari, Maria Corea, Gabriela Pandeli, Andrea Munoz, Michael Justice, Gabriela Serrano, Ivan Bustillo, Kathleen Sotomayor, Azalia Molina.
